10 Great Lines of Poetry to Celebrate National Poetry Month

April is National Poetry Month. Although we’re now in the last 10 days of this great month, I figured that it wasn’t too late to share some of lovely lines of poetry. Poetry is good for the soul and good for writing. When you read good poetry it can be an uplifting experience. It can inspire us and help us to use our creativity in describing the ordinary and everyday into something incredible and memorable. There are times when you feel you won’t ever be the same after reading a line of poetry. It’s as though those words were waiting for you. Okay, maybe I’m being a bit over dramatic here but I’m sure many poetry lovers alike can understand my point of view. Anyway, here are 10 great lines of poetry that I hope you’ll also enjoy!

A word after a word is power

Many of these lines have stuck with me and have left a lasting impression on my mind. It was difficult to  choose only 10  lines for this blog post. But who knows, maybe I’ll write a part 2 later down the road.  I hope you enjoyed reading these lines of poetry and will feel inspired to read or write some pieces of your own. If you have a favourite line of poetry, I’d love to know what it is. Feel free to share it in the comments below!
